Tips Here are some tips for creating the most from your River Murray Photos images. Please note: we make no claims as the quality of the image when supplied to you. All images are supplied as is with all rights reserved. All images are supplied as RGB (Red, Green, Blue). These colours are great for viewing on screen or in electronic format however they cannot be used in print. For printing offset or digital all images should be converted to CMYK. These are the four channels used for printing. You will need some software to convert the images from RGB to CMYK and we recommend Adobe Photoshop® as this is used by professionals. If you are printing to an inkjet printer we have found that RGB files work fine however we recommend that you send a test file comparing CMYK with RGB so you can see the difference for yourself. If you convert the images to print you may notice a change in the colours with some of the digital images on this disk. RGB is able to hold an extensive range of luminescent colours compared to print. When the file is converted to CMYK the nearest option will be chosen by the software. You can adjust the colours in your software to suit your needs. Printing also has the has the additional requirement of allowing for ink spread and dot gain so we recommend you consult a professional if you have any questions. Web We don't recommend increasing the resolution of a web based image. The images are pixelated and soft. To get the best images for the web we suggest you resize down to the exact pixel size and dpi you need. We do highly suggest that you sharpen the image before you resize. This will keep the integrity and appropriately keep the images sharp when it is reduced to the required size. If it is reduced to 72dpi and not sharpened the final image may look soft. Please also remember that web images work in RGB and are best saved as gif, jpg or png. Image Size & Resolutions There are 3 image sizes for purchase from this size. Low resolution (72dpi) for web viewing or on your monitor, A5 for medium great quality print and high resolution A4 for printing and enlargements. We recommend that if you are printing these images on paper and they will not be used at full size A4 that you reduce the size of the image to your requirements. Printing really does require 300 dpi (dots per inch) where screen or monitors only need 72 dpi. Good luck from the River Murray Photos team. |
